People find it a lot easier to talk about what they doing and not so much why they are doing it. This is not because they have no reason for doing what they are doing but rather the reason has faded into the background and as such has very little or no impact on the actions.
The thing however is that how actions are performed is largely driven by why the actor is doing it. So in a way, this unconscious reason behind your actions is probably one if the most important determinants of your actions. Not the only one but one of the main ones.
Using the frame work of actions results and value, the results you want to achieve inform the actions you choose to take and how you choose to perform those actions. But it doesn’t end there, the value you want to deliver inform the results you want to achieve which inform the actions you perform and how you perform those actions…
So what value are you trying to deliver? What results are you choosing to pursue? How is this influencing the actions you choose to perform and how you choose to perform them?
